Is it done in the nude?

  Your comfort level is what is most important. Most of my clients choose to be in the nude, however if you feel more comfortable in your underwear or 'draped' (covered with a sheet, exposing only one part at a time) that is your decision.

  Techniques such as Esalen Massage, are traditionally done with both the client & the healer, in the nude. Many people feel more comfortable when the masseur is nude as this can make you feel less 'naked' on the table. Remember when we were kids, how nudity was an experience of being free - separate from sexuality. Tribal people who are comfortable in the nude experience this. The constant association; nudity = sex is symptomatic of a culture who hide bodies, only exposing them when sex is involved. In some places in the world the mere sight of a woman's arm, is seen as uncomfortably erotic. If you have ever been to a (family oriented) nude beach you might have experienced a uniquely 'leveling' & humbling experience - there are no costumes for anyone to hide behind!


  People come in all shapes and sizes and we are humbled by our commonness. I am comfortable in the nude, and do not associate it with sex. I think if we're honest, were all kids as well as nudists at heart!
