What is Vipassana Meditation?
Vipassana, which means to see things as they really are, is one of India's most ancient techniques of meditation. It was rediscovered by Gotama Buddha more than 2500 years ago and was taught by him as a universal remedy for universal ills, i.e., an Art Of Living.
This technique uses as a focal point, the scanning of your own body as a mantra, inch by inch trying to 'listen' or perceive the present feeling from that spot. This practice, can take a while to get the hang of but it can bring incredible deep levels of concentration, meditation and awareness, once you've caught on! By feeling and becoming attuned to the sensation that your skin is always sending you, you scan your bodies surface inch by inch, allowing you to become incredibly self aware, and in the Now.
