“… Vegetarian and vegan diets are becoming more mainstream, and the number of vegetarians and vegans in the United States and in Europe is expected to increase over the next decade. There is also a growth in medical interest in veg nutrition; the number of articles in the scientific literature related to the veg topic has increased more than 7 times over the last 40 years.
In addition to looking forward to the lifelong enjoyment of the nutritious and natural vegan diet, the people also know that their choice will not only save the lives of animals, but also their own.

The American Dietetic Association, which is the world’s largest organization of food and nutrition professionals, stated that a healthy veg diet, appropriate for all ages, can ensure lower blood cholesterol levels, reduced blood pressure, lower rates of hypertension, and more.

The noble prize was issued twice back in 1933 to Dr. Otto Warburg for his finding that cancer cannot survive in an alkaline body. Google him, and healing cancer with alkalinity. Dark green leafy vegetables are alkaline, and so are cucumbers, celery, figs. Lemons and limes are highly alkaline despite being acidic outside of the body… they metabolize alkaline. My mother has healed from the pancreatic cancer that the doctors gave her one year to live… were going on 6 years now and she is healthier than ever.

1) abstain from foods and lifestyles that are acidic and / or toxic in any way
2) detox the body
3) focus on foods that are alkalizing and full of antioxidants.  (eaten “live”, “raw” or uncooked)

Cancer ultimately is anaerobic asymmetrical cellular mutation. When cells are deprived of oxygen (due to acidity, and free radicals) they try to continue their “symmetrical” cellular division, but mess it up, and end up dividing “asymmetrical” – which is a mutation, which is cancer.

You Are What You Eat

Most “weight loss” strategies don’t work due to the same reason.  Almost all of them are based on the idea of calorie restriction. Yet are usually just modifications of the standard American diet (SAD).

The reality, which might seem counter intuitive at first is that weight gain is actually about malnutrition & cellular STARVATION. When we eat nutrient sparse (filler) foods – foods loaded with empty calories – we end up with deep cravings & our bodies yearn for the nutrients they need. To Make up for the lack of nutrients in our food, our bodies attempt to acquire MORE of it & overeating. If you eat “filler foods” which bulk up your digestive track and make you feel full, without giving you much other than more gluey junk to clean up, then you will gain weight AND your appetite will increase.

Almost the entire modern standard American diet (SAD) is made up of foods like this; foods high in gluten (or glue) (in pretty much all baked grain /wheat based products, pasta, breads, pastries, cereals), as well as foods containing the sticky gluey proteins found in dairy (especially pasteurized or cooked), and foods containing oxidized (sticky rancid free radical ridden) fats.

The nutrients we need are found in foods which are treated like garnish or decoration to our diet, like mineral dense, vitamin, enzymes, micro-nutrients and trace mineral rich foods like fresh organic fruits and vegetables; green vegetables, roots, fruits, sprouts, nuts, seeds, sea vegetables, berries & flowers (broccoli, cauliflower etc.).

Calorie restriction, (without boosting nourishment) results in relapse, your body will crave nutrients. The best way to acquire a healthy weight is to eat nutrient dense physically appropriate (most evolutionarily familiar) foods. Foods which even if you over ate, you couldn’t possibly gain weight because they do not have the “plugging” ingredients like sticky oxidized fats (especially animal fats), gluey gluten, and casein glues in dairy products.  When you eat nutrient dense foods, your body will start to flush all the junk out, while using the nutrients for all kinds of healing and detoxification processes, while quenching your hunger more thoroughly.

In the end you can’t cheat your body. People have appetites for a reason, and that is to show us our body needs nutrients.  If you eat nutrient dense foods; foods which are high in fibre, live enzymes, minerals, vitamins, then you quench the actual hunger instinct for nutrients, while providing the building blocks necessary for bringing your body back to a natural, ideal body weight for life!

Also keep in mind, foods which are grown organically are not only healing to the planet, but contain any where from twice to hundreds of times more mineral and nutrients as the industrial crop variety.  Think about THAT when your looking at the price. And consider how much it actually is going to quench your hunger for nutrients. Heirloom crops or wild foraged are even better!

Green Leafy Vegetation (aim as high as you can to 50% of your diet):

What were looking for here is the chlorophyll & mineral dense, fibre bulking foods. 

Fruits (Sweet, Non-Sweet & Sour) (30 – 40% of your diet):

Oils (fruit, nut & seed):

Holistic Health Tip; Suffer Less Mucus, Reduce Gluten & Cleanse

Right now so many of the people around me are suffering the sniffles so I thought it would be a good time to share some healthy ways to overcome the stuffed, up, sniffly, drippy, mucus blues;

Many of the foods we eat cause our bodies to become ladened with with gunk. Many people are aware of the mucus forming effects of dairy products. Two other important clogging substances are;

Gluten literally clogs our lymphatic system, hindering it’s ability to function as the bodies drainage system. And oils (even olive and other vegetable oils) get stickier the more they are oxidized.

If you are feeling like “your coming down with something”, feeling stuffy, or experiencing the full clout of the mucus water works, you can feel better, quicker, by aiming to minimize foods which contain gluten and oxidized oils.

Gluten can be found mostly in white coloured foods, and is what white bread is made of. Pizza, Pasta, Pastries… Whole wheat flour/bread, has more fibre, and therefore less gluten, however it is still full of gluten. Other foods are; white rice (less in others, but not without), peanuts, corn and most other grains. Oxidized oils are in all foods which have oils or fats which have been cooked, are rancid, or exposed for any length of time to light, air, or radiation.

Cleansing foods which will help you feeling your best pronto, are;

When your body is trying to get all that mucus up and out, step aside out of it’s way, assist it by eating light and consume only cleansing foods and liquids, and you will promptly get back to feeling your best. Empower your immune system and spare the chemical drugs.

So, drink lot’s of fluids, get lot’s of sleep, avoid all “gluey stuff”; dairy, gluten, cooked oils & fats, refined sugars, meats (cooked oils), eggs (cooked oils), and spend a few days eating light fresh cleansing foods and allow your body to efficiently rid it’s self of mucus, and you’ll be feeling better in no time!

PS. You can also cleanse like this well before you get sick, and avoid feeling that way altogether.
